![]() Safety & Logistics Safety Before we embark on any rafting or kayaking trip, you will be given a comprehensive safety talk. The safety talk can be given in English, Chinese or Tibetan. It is most important that you ask questions if you do not understand. We carry comprehensive first aid kits and rescue equipment on every trip. All our international staff are trained in first aid and river rescue. We use expert safety kayaks on all trips (except the Lhasa River ) to ensure no-one takes an unintentionally long swim. If you fall out and cannot get back to the raft the safety kayaker will give you directions or have you climb on the back of the kayak and paddle you to the raft or to the shore. Logistics We have a talented team of professional guides and support staff that will do their best to make your trip as smooth as possible; however, travel in Tibet can be challenging. The expression: "Four seasons in one day," can happen very literally here! The weather can change very fast and river levels can rise and fall without notice. Roads can be washed out and vehicles can break down. Even the simplest things can take a surprising long time! When you arrive in Tibet take the time to adjust to a slower pace of life and remember, much of the reward of traveling in Tibet is that you are in a remote, unpredictable and fascinating region. Have an open mind, be patient, expect the unexpected and you will have the adventure of a lifetime. High Asia reserves the right to change itineraries without notice for safety and logistical reasons. If we are forced to change an itinerary we will create a new itinerary with your best interests in mind. If, for unavoidable reasons, we have to cancel a trip, High Asia will provide a full refund. At High Asia , we take very seriously the responsibility of delivering a fascinating, fun, exciting and safe trip for every client.
