The northern, eastern and north central regions of Sikkim are some of the most beautiful in the Himalaya, and some of the least explored. Our Northern Sikkim Traverse takes in a huge swath of this area, including recently opened destinations in NE Sikkim. The trek takes one quite near the eastern border area dominated by the Pauhunri massif towering to well over 7,000 meters. We then cut west and virtually traverse the whole of the country. We end the trek near the northern sections of the Kangchenjunga group by the semi-mythical Green lake. Throughout the trek we will encounter Sikkimese villagers of various ethnic decent-offering a glimpse into a way of life in the Himalaya fast becoming a thing of the past.
