High Asia has designed several treks and tours that enable one to immerse in the people, landscape and culture of the Kingdom of Bhutan. All of the countries we guide in have no shortage of stunning mountain scenery. Yet no where except in Bhutan can one walk for weeks on end through landscape uninterrupted by some sort of environmental degradation carried out in the name of progress. Bhutan has kept it’s needs simple. It may have one of the world’s lowest GNP, but the people of Bhutan’s GNH (Gross National Happiness) is perhaps the worlds highest.

The northeastern, northern and western borders of Bhutan are home to some of the world most beautiful and least known mountains. All of the treks High Asia guides in Bhutan begin in lush, wooded valleys of the Paro, Wangdi and Bumthang regions. Several of them link up different regions forming loops that take in vista after vista of beautiful mountain scenery, remote monasteries and villages. Below we have listed several of our favorite trekking routes ranging in difficulty from strenuous 29 day trips, to moderate and intermediate 9 and 18 day trips. Though we have designed these itineraries, we welcome requests for custom treks as well as those interested in mountaineering possibilities.
